Quelle valeur ajoutée apporte une agence de traduction

What value does a translation agency add?

Why use the services of a translation agency rather than a freelance translator, or even an automatic translation program?

Why use the services of a translation agency, rather than a freelance translator? Why even hire a translator at all, instead of letting your favorite automatic translation program do the work? Find the answer in the next 6 points:

1. A thicker address book

A quality translation agency has an address book of translators specialized in different fields. Therefore, when a client needs, for example, an urgent legal translation, the project manager has  several specialized translators for the project on hand, that will be available in the shortest deadline.

2. Very short deadline

The ability to respond very quickly is also an added value from a translation agency: by increasing the number of translators, the agency is able to considerably reduce the translation time of a document. This will allow an urgent financial translation to be completed without compromising the quality.

3. Insurance risk

Another advantage of teamwork: security. The isolated translator may be the victim of a number of problems that could prevent the work from being completed on time (illness, a sudden computer crash, an internet connection problem, etc.). All things that are beyond the translator’s control but against which a translator agency can protect you: if translator A for some reason or other, cannot complete the task, there is always translator B.

4. Translation programs

The translation agency has the ability to acquire translation assistance programs which, because of their cost, are often inaccessible to freelance translators. The use of this software can improve the quality of translations by standardizing the vocabulary, systematizing the use of specialized glossaries and integrating the work of several translators.

5. Quality control

A conscientious translator always rereads their work, sometimes several times. But as all writing professionals experience one day or another, nothing replaces a third party reader. It is one of the other added values of a translation agency: it relies on quality control processes that include the services of proofreaders.

6. Local and remote service

Last but not least: for your medical translation or your marketing translation, a translation agency can offer you the benefit of a contact nearby while offering attractive rates if it employs translators working in countries where translators’ services are cheap.

A translation agency ensures you quality work, done within the deadline and at an attractive rate.
