On 5 May 2026, Cultures Connection provided on-site simultaneous interpreting from English into Chinese at Cineum Cannes for Corporate Travel Management (CTM). The business meeting required a solution that would allow Chinese-speaking participants to follow presentations delivered in English without interrupting the programme.

An interpreting setup tailored to an international meeting

The final scope included two on-site interpreters, an interpreting booth, 60 wireless receivers and technical support. The receiver quantity matched the requirement communicated by CTM for attendees wishing to listen to the Chinese interpretation.

Simultaneous interpreting helps preserve the pace of a meeting involving several speakers. Participants listen through their receivers while the speaker continues presenting. Working as a pair allows the interpreters to take turns and share the concentration required by this demanding task.

Planning installation around the venue’s requirements

Preparation involved coordination with CTM, the Cineum Cannes venue team and DX-Events. Discussions covered the position of the booth, available space, power supply and how the interpreting equipment would fit alongside the room’s audiovisual setup.

Installation was scheduled for the evening of 4 May, ahead of the following day’s meeting. Planning assembly and checks in advance was an essential part of the organisation, as the morning schedule also had to accommodate speakers and guests.

Preparing the interpreters before the event

Preparation extended beyond equipment. A briefing meeting with the interpreters was arranged before the assignment, and the event rundown was shared with the language team. This information helps interpreters anticipate the sequence of presentations, proper names and relevant terminology.

Coordination between the project manager, the interpreters and CTM’s contacts clarified the selected setup and preparation needs. At an international event, the listening experience depends both on linguistic expertise and on sharing the right information with the technical teams.

Supporting event organisers in Cannes

Following the assignment, CTM sent positive feedback to our team. The project illustrates the support Cultures Connection provides to event organisers: interpreter selection, preparation, equipment and technical coordination according to the project’s requirements.
