A Day of Consecutive Interpretation in Nice

Cultures Connection Alongside the Chamber of Trades and Crafts

Last 28 of March, Cultures Connection attended a meeting organized by the Chamber of Trades and Crafts (CMA). Financed by the UN as part of their cooperation initiative, this meeting welcomed our Italian-French consecutive interpretation services.

A European Waste Management Initiative

Officially launching their project, the CMA welcomed guests and participants from Italy to their offices in Saint-Laurent-du-Var, near Nice. On the table was waste management, a major environmental concern for Europe. This first meeting took place both in person and via video-conference, requiring intense coordination and strong linguistic capabilities to ensure fluid communication between Italian and French participants.

The Demands of Consecutive Interpreting

Unlike simultaneous interpretation, consecutive interpreting takes place once the speaker has finished communicating or during a short pause between sections. Consecutive interpreters must remain highly concentrated, memorize details, and analyze the message to then reconstruct it accurately and clearly.

Our professional Italian-French interpreter attended this event of around three-and-a-half hours at the offices of the CMA in Saint-Laurent-du-Var. Attending this meeting in person allowed for a better rapport with participants and made handling any technical issues related to the video streaming much easier.

In addition to our interpreter were 20 or so participants, most already engaged in various environmental management projects. Conversation went smoothly thanks to the help of our interpreter, and a final decision was able to be reached. Overcoming of the language barrier and the creation of mutual understanding was only possible with the help of Italian-French consecutive interpretation.

Cultures Connection: Your Trusted Language Partner

Another successful job, and a perfect illustration of the quality of our interpreting services. With a presence in Nice and the surround area, we at Cultures Connection have provided consecutive interpretation services for a variety of organizations like NGOs, public institutions, consulates, and business small and large. We cover most language combinations, including Italian-French consecutive interpretation, Spanish, English, German, or Portuguese. Whether it be business meetings, training courses, conferences, or institutional events, we at Cultures Connection can provide you with experienced interpreters, specially selected to best serve each client.

Our interpreters have the techniques required and the necessary skills to navigate cultural differences, for both businesses and institutions. As displayed by our interpreter with the CMA, UN sponsored projects like this demand attention to formality, politics, and correct terminology specific to environmental issues.
